CPE Lyon takes part in the AURA Region's ‘Higher Education and Research’ mission in Brussels
At the invitation of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region (AURA), CPE Lyon took part in the regional Higher Education and Research mission in Brussels on 17 and 18 February 2025, represented by our Director Gérard Pignault and our European Project Coordinator Alexandre Châteauraynaud.
The aim of the mission was to give higher education and research players a better understanding of European programmes, to understand the political and strategic guidelines set out by the new European Commission for higher education, research and innovation and to position the excellence of the region’s players in the eyes of European institutions.
During these two days, various meetings and presentations were organised by the AURA delegation in Brussels on the following subjects:
- European regional development funds
- Meetings with members of the European Commission (DG EAC, DG RTD)
- Exchanges with the French Permanent Representation to the EU
- Practical workshops on European university alliances, research funding programmes and Erasmus+.
Finally, a meeting with a smaller group at the European Commission was also organised with Catherine Staron, Vice-President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, responsible for high schools, higher education, research and innovation, and Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, member of the Cabinet of Roxana Mînzatu, European Commissioner and Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness.
